Tighten Loose Skin
Tighten Loose Skin

There’s very little that can be done to tighten loose skin once it’s occurred. Your skin is made up of three layers and once the lowest layer, the epidermis, loses elastin and collagen, nothing can be done without interference such as surgery or botox.

However, skincare can be used as a preventative measure or to make your skin look plumper when applied. Certain ingredients can be very beneficial to keep your skin looking full such as Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid.

It is accurate that once Collagen has left your skin there is no replacing it. There have been some studies that have suggested that the molecule of Collagen cannot be absorb as effectively by your skin as other ingredients. However, it has been seen to have some benefits as it works well at moisturising your skin, which then, in turn, helps the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. “Consumers are very skincare-savvy in Korea, and many of them understand that collagen is likely not used by the skin as collagen itself, but it's an excellent humectant, which helps skin stay healthy,” says Alicia Yoon.

Hyaluronic Acid

It has been known for wonder ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid can be injected under the skin. Hyaluronic Acid is naturally made by the body and so is less dangerous than using botox, which is a weaker version of poison.

When injected or used topically Hyaluronic Acid has been known to make your skin look plumper. 'HA (hyaluronic acid) is critical in maintaining skin hydration,' says Aesthetic Doctor, Dr. Maryam Zamani, 'although it can be degraded by free radical mechanisms caused by things like UV exposure. Topically applied, it helps to hydrate the skin and maintain this hydration as a humectant.'
